NASA Rassor Drum Bucket By: Braden Keller My Drum Bucket takes a different approach than most people have taken. My bucket or bucket line has more versatility and efficiency due to its design, which allows for many parts that can be switched in and out. However, this design also means it has many moving parts, making it harder to replace them if there is a failure. All of my dimensions meet the requirements, but they can be changed with some slight modifications if needed. Even with one of the scoop end's damage, it can still dig just fine. Below are some tests I ran in my software program to verify the mass and add more detail: Solidworks Mass Properties Mass properties of NASA RASSOR Assembly Configuration: Default Coordinate system: -- default -- Mass = 3469.65 grams Volume = 3,469,652.92 cubic millimeters Surface area = 8,997,617.2 square millimeters Center of mass: (millimeters) X = 209.24 Y = 114.99 Z = 220.46 Principal axes of inertia and principal moments of inertia: (grams * square millimeters) Taken at the center of mass. Ix = (0.98, 0.00, 0.18) Px = 20,826,394.35 Iy = (0.00, 1.00, 0.00) Py = 61,796,468.53 Iz = (-0.18, 0.00, 0.98) Pz = 71,910,252.91 Moments of inertia: (grams * square millimeters) Taken at the center of mass and aligned with the output coordinate system.
