This innovative design consists of 3 circular sections with 2 scoops in each section. In front of each scoop, a set of spikes rises in an ascending shape, preventing objects larger than a few centimeters from entering the scoops while allowing dust to pass through freely. A spiral inside the drum enables it to load regolith when rotating in one direction, release it when rotating in the other direction, and hold it securely when the drum is stationary. The drum's material of choice is carbon fiber, which allows the weight to be kept under 5kg. The spikes and sharp edges on the scoops and perimeter are made from steel, increasing their resistance significantly. The primary benefit of this design lies in its ability to prevent large objects from entering the drums. As evident from the properties and technical drawings uploaded, this design meets all the requirements specified: * Scoop width: 98 mm * Bucket drum mass: 4.97 kg * Bucket drum diameter: 400 mm * Bucket drum length: 300 mm * Approximate regolith capture volume: 21.89 L * Approximate fill ratio: 58% The calculated volume of regolith captured and the approximate fill ratio are based on the assumption that the maximum capacity for regolith is as depicted in the right view of the technical drawing image. I estimate that the actual capacity could be higher, but I deliberately opted to demonstrate compliance with the requirements even under a more conservative scenario. I am confident that this design will function effectively and can be fabricated without undue complexity, as the shapes and structures involved are straightforward and uncomplicated.
