The mass of this system ranges from 0.41528 kg (excluding Nema 8 Stepper motors x 3) to 0.61021 kg with those motors included, and the total power consumption per motor is 2.34 W for a total of 7.02 W. Samples are easily collected by layering through filters on each stage. A camera view image is attached. Key components include a base, auger probe, two bevel gears (18 T and 20 T), a rack gear (10 T), three Nema 8 Stepper Motors, a sample collector, ball bearing, Nema support, roller, lock pin, container, and various filters (2 cm to 1.5 cm, 1.5 cm to 1 cm, 5 mm to 1 mm, and 1 cm to 50 mm). The system utilizes a helical conveyor and vibrate connector, as well as a vibrate crank and lock pin, all made primarily of polystyrene except for the auger probe, helical conveyor, bearing, sample collector, cylindrical tank, and filters. Filters (4 in total) vibrate due to a slider crank mechanism with sizes ranging from 2 cm to 1.5 cm, 1.5 cm to 1 cm, 1 cm to 5 mm, to 5 mm to 1 mm. The system's reciprocating gear mechanism provides 10 cm of motion for the auger probe to collect samples, which are then placed in a rectangular box and conveyed to a cylindrical container with a diameter of 4.8 cm and height of 5.73 cm. Filters continuously agitate the stored samples in layers. The lander component can be used as a Lunar excursion module, offering several advantages such as continuous operation at any pressure difference, quick sampling within half an Earth day, multiple sampling locations without affecting sample content, and 88% power savings.
