NASA Gemini Titan, a 1/200 scale model, measures approximately 6.5 inches in length. The simplified design makes it ideal for printing at small scales. To facilitate painting, the parts are divided into manageable sections, avoiding the combination of vertical and horizontal stripes in single components. Assembly relies on bits of 1.75mm filament as pegs, but may require some adjustment depending on your printer's specifications. For a tighter fit, simply pinch the filament with pliers to make it "stick" more securely. Many space rocket models are already available, but I decided to create my own because finding the right balance between detail and scale can be challenging when being specific. Some models have high levels of detail intended for large prints, while others feature low polygon counts that result in visible flat faces on cylinders. Additionally, not all models include scale information, making it unclear if they adhere to correct dimensions. For my personal project, I aim to create a lineup of space rockets, past and present, at the same 1:200 scale. This scale is large enough to prevent small rockets from becoming too tiny, yet not so large that the Saturn V and SLS appear enormous. My goal is to design models with very simple layouts that are easy to print, sand, and paint, while only implying intricate details when necessary, retaining a reasonably accurate representation of dimensions and proportions. Several of my models are based on pieces I previously created for mods in Kerbal Space Program but have been redrawn to feature different details and polygon counts. At the time, I was recreating real-world rockets by matching their actual dimensions based on diagrams and measurements found online. To maintain accuracy while simplifying or omitting details, please note that my models may not be 100% perfect. I hope you enjoy these space rocket models!
