NASA CHAMP Bubble Clamp
grabcad
This device features a clamp composed of two parts connected by a locking cam at a 90° angle. Key design elements include: a rounded shape to prevent injury from sharp edges, intuitive operation indicated by closing and opening symbols, and a secure lock without any loose levers. The ring nut allows for easy tightening and loosening while the clamp slides along the handrail without detachment or disconnection of accessories. Symmetrical two-handed use helps balance the latch, and corrugated contact surfaces increase grip between the clamp and rail. FEA analysis demonstrates high resistance due to arched structure, and black arrows can be colored for clarity using a permanent marker. The STL files are organized in a designated folder.
