NASA Challenge Entry 2 - Tommy Mueller

grabcad

My second submission for the NASA Challenge is an animation showcasing a 3D printed human-rated spacecraft. The heat shield features a concentric spiral design that emulates a cement mixer, controlling flow via paddle direction and centrifugal force. Multi-axis robotic arms are attached to a base frame, adjusting for optimal operation positioning. Robotic arm tools include a print nozzle, milling head, thermal hose, and a sculpting tool for ablative material application. The design was created in SolidWorks 2018 and imported into Unreal Engine using Unreal Studio. A huge thanks to NASA and GrabCAD for this challenge!
