EscopeThis is a proposal for a conceptual design of a cargo storage and transportation system for the Gateway mission. The model used prioritizes load accessibility and system maintenance. Secondly, it aims to maximize the load carried while maintaining a light supporting structure. Inner ContourThe internal set is subdivided into 4 racks that rotate simultaneously and move away from each other to access the external contour and the spaces between racks respectively. The organization in the internal racks is in multiples of 6 CTB (0.5, 3, 6). Hand and foot supports have been added to the racks to increase accessibility.Outer ContourThe outer contour accommodates multiples of 4 CTB packs (0.5, 1, 2, 4), minimizing voids and maximizing cargo volume. The packages are attached to the outer contour in two ways, one for launch and the other for organization in orbit. Perforated rings are fixed to the structure of the pressurized volume and are used as cargo anchoring points (for launch), and customized parts made of fiberglass composites shape the contours of the CTB's, ensuring organization (orbit).Custom PacksThere are 2 customized volumes (Fig.4) with revolving doors under 2 parallel circular rails (Fig. 5b), promoting optimization of the semi-spherical regions of the pressurized volume.NOTE: This is a conceptual project. Thicknesses and shapes were adopted for preliminary definition. Structural calculations should be made at a later stage.
