NASA BUCKET DRUM
grabcad
Project for the "NASA Regolith Advanced Surface Systems Operations Robot (RASSOR) Bucket Drum Design Challenge" The primary objective is to utilize conical geometry to minimize the diameter of load-bearing elements. To reinforce the structure, multiple teeth and a transport auger are also incorporated. Positioning the loading window near the corner reduces torque requirements for rotation, allowing power to be redirected towards crushing, breaking, and selecting material. A double transport auger facilitates increased material collection within the tank. In reverse mode, emptying the tank is crucial. The bucket drum is constructed from steel and titanium materials. Key specifications include: * Bucket drum mass: 4.5 kg * Bucket drum diameter: 400 mm * Bucket drum length: 300 mm * Bucket drum capacity: 18 l * Number of bucket drum windows: 1 * Number of bucket drum teeth: over 100
