NAS server case for mini ITX motherboard and 5 HDDs / SSDs
thingiverse
This is my DIY project for my ASRock AM1H-ITX home NAS setup. I utilize 4 HDDs for RAID and a separate SSD for running Linux.\r\n\r\nIt relies on 4 neodymium magnets (12mm by 2mm) to securely hold the top and bottom components together. The magnet holders are printed individually and bonded with hot glue, which is necessary due to the compact size of this case - just slightly larger than mini-ITX mobo specs, so the motherboard will not fit if the magnet holders are attached to the bottom.\r\n\r\nTwo small holes in the front accommodate the power LED and HDD LED, while a hole in the back allows for easy access to the power button. The side holes enable simple lifting of the unit, and the perimeter holes on the sides provide essential ventilation.\r\n\r\nA standard 120mm fan is used, and this setup runs remarkably cool most of the time, even during the hottest summer months.\r\n\r\nThere are no copyright restrictions in place, so feel free to reach out to me for the original DesignSpark Mechanical source files if you're interested in modifying or playing around with the design.
