Narwhal Marker Holder
pinshape
It's that time of year when coworkers start making outlandish requests for odds and ends. One colleague asked for a unicorn, but I shot them down with a firm "No!" before feeling a pang of guilt and offering up a Narwhal instead. After struggling to shape the initial model through several unsuccessful attempts at sculpting, I decided to take a cue from Big Ben, the iconic whale from those classic Rankin/Bass Rudolph specials, and opted for a low-poly/quasi-abstract approach. Initially, there was only a forehead hole where the marker could serve as the horn. However, the more I looked at it, the more I thought adding a blowhole would be a great idea. This works best when you have a pen with feathers on it.
