
Narrow Omega Boomerang

<p>This is another remix of the <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4599049">Omega Boomerang</a>, using the "bent stick" technique shown in the video below. Other than in the <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4793867">Keyhole Omega Boomerang</a>, this one just has a slightly tighter elbow angle without changing the overall shape too much.</p> <p>The one I have printed so far at 90% size has a surprisingly large range (45-50 meters, I'd guess) with an easy flick throw.</p> <h3> How I Designed This</h3> <p><div><p>Treating the boomerang as a straight stick with an airfoil that is deformed along a curve makes it very easy to manipulate the overall shape without the need to push around a lot of individual vertices.</p> Basically, you just need to nudge around two of the control points of the curve that defines the overall shape.</div></p> Category: Sport & Outdoors
