Narrow Gauge Powered Bogie Set

Narrow Gauge Powered Bogie Set

This bogie set is designed for compatibility with the model railway gauge I use for my stop motion mine trolley (https://cults3d.com/en/various/mine-trolley-prop-for-stop-motion) and mine truck (http://www.techmonkeybusiness.com/another-3d-printed-mine-truck.html). At this scale, the track gauge is 36mm between the inside edges of the rails. I plan to use these bogie sets in multiple projects, but as a standalone project, they may be useful to others. The overall dimensions of a single bogie are: 62mm wide, 80mm long, and 25mm high. I have a 1:24 scale version of this available here: (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/1-24-scale-powered-bogie-set) I designed the details based on numerous powered bogies for railcars and diesel locomotives. My goal was to create a bogie set that looks plausible, with an arrangement giving the impression of electrical drive. The models provided include the Blender model, created in Blender 2.58. As a result, you can use this model in any version of Blender 2.5+ without issues. Additional items needed are: some Ø4mm rod of any sort, an M4 nut and bolt. I used wooden dowel for the axles, but anything will work; they should be about 54mm long. It's essential to install the nut in the top cross spar early in the assembly process. I recommend gluing it into the socket. No support is required during printing, as there are some break-off bits on a couple of motor components. The filenames indicate the number of prints needed for each part.
