Naophorous statue with Osiris shrine

The statue was crafted to represent a common man, destined for worship in the cult of Osiris within a sacred temple. By its presence, the individual depicted could participate in symbolic rituals performed in the temple setting. Designed during the Late period, this work emerged at the end of the 26th Dynasty and the beginning of the 27th, roughly between 540 to 510 BC.
