sketchfab

A beautiful clay pipe, crafted at the Nantgarw China Works in the late 1800s in South Wales, UK. The pipe features a stunning fish design on its bowl and proudly displays the name "Nantgarw" on one side of its stem and "Pardoe" on the other. These distinctive markings were stamped onto the pipe using an iron mold that was specifically designed for making penny pipes. The Pardoe family, who owned the China works for several generations, were skilled craftsmen who produced clay pipes until their business eventually declined in the early 1900s due to the rising popularity of cigarettes.
