Nanoleaf Hex Modular
thingiverse
I wasn't happy with the designs of the hex nano's around so i made my own with inspo from other ones around. This uses an ESP236 with WLED installed and it works a treat. requires some soldering. You can have more LED's, or less, depending on what you want. I found that for the diffuser, you just print in white, and use 2 layers. More layers make it more diffused, fewer layers make the LED bleed too much. Screws hold it together (Scale the screws up or down depending on how accurate your printer was, I scaled mine down 5% and it was perfect). Plugs are also provided on the end for light bleed after you're done. I used hot glue to glue the LEDs down as the double-sided tape sucks. JST connectors make the job easy to solder. I spent a lot of time RNDing these to be strong, and look great. Let me know if you need more info.
