Nano Talon VTOL Conversion Kit ========================== Introduction -------------- Converting the ZOHD Nano Talon (with PNP motor) into a VTOL (quadplane) is now easier than ever with this simple kit that requires only a few additional components. Flight Video ------------- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5osCcxKE_A Installation Instructions --------------------------- Print four motor mounts and two boom mounts. Install the carbon fiber tube into the boom mounts, tighten them in with M3 screws & nuts. Mount the motors on the motor mounts, then glue the mounts onto the carbon tube (make sure front and back motors have the same distance from CG). Ensure both motors are perfectly straight/pointing in the same direction. Next, glue the boom mounts to the underside of the wings (see pictures for approximate position) - you can still adjust the booms by loosening the screws. Installing ESCs in the lower hatch is recommended instead of out on the booms. Additional Materials: - 4-in-1 ESC - Emax RS2205 2600kV motors (weaker ones may also work) - 10mm carbon fiber rod (about 40cm long) - 5" props - 4x M3 screws, 2-3cm long - 4x M3 nuts - Hot glue Notes: This solution works well, but yaw stability is not great, so avoid hard yaw maneuvers. Installing the flat wing mod and regular plane test flights before conversion are recommended. Tuning stock PIDs in Arduplane down a bit may also help to prevent oscillations (mine were pretty strong). My AUW for NT in the video is around 950g. Version History ----------------- * 15.4.2019: Initial Release
