Nana's Birdseed Hanger

I got my Nana a bird feeder, this is a bracket to hang it off of a 3in-diameter pole outside her home. I added a floral decoration to it. I'm hoping the wood finish with weather the elements suitably, once I've given it a polyurethane spray. Tips welcome.
