Namco Bandai Blast Mini Joystick
thingiverse
This is a joystick designed to replace the original direction pad for the Namco Bandai Blast HDMI game controller. The game features classic titles such as PAC MAN, DIG DUG, and Galaga, which do not play well with the standard directional pad. Therefore, this compact joystick was created. Remove the original direction pad by carefully prying it out of the controller using a gentle force. It is a press fit, so you can easily remove it without applying too much pressure. You can use a butter-knife to help dislodge the original pad and lift it out. Insert the 3D printed peg into the joystick. It may require some tapping with a plastic hammer to secure the peg firmly inside the joystick. Then, place the combined joystick and peg into the controller. It should fit snugly, but you shouldn't need to apply too much force to push it into place. To ensure optimal strength, print the peg lying flat on its longest dimension parallel to the build plate. This will enable the peg to withstand the stresses exerted during gameplay. Print the joystick standing upright with its base facing downwards. Apply a brim to enhance adhesion and avoid using supports as they are not necessary. Finally, print both pieces with 100% infill for maximum structural integrity. Enjoy playing your favorite retro games with this custom-made joystick.
