Nail Puzzle Box
thingiverse
This is a puzzle box that sparked my creativity after watching skilled individuals solve a wooden version on YouTube. The goal is to open the box, but it's cleverly locked and has no visible clues outside. It makes for an excellent showpiece, piggy bank, or storage container for hiding treasures. Geocaching enthusiasts will also appreciate its potential. The mechanics are straightforward, making assembly a breeze. Seven nails and a small amount of glue are required to complete the project. The nails should be less than 0.4cm in diameter and at least 6.5cm long. A tiny dab of glue is needed for one interior piece. Feel free to leave a comment or post your own make. Then, using some force, quickly spin the box in a circle. The centrifugal force will propel all the nails in opposite directions, releasing the lock. Next, gently lift the lid, which should slide out freely. Update: If the nails don't fully disengage when spun, try spinning the box in the opposite direction.
