NACA 63A-108 - NASA/AMES Modification Airfoil Micro Drone Propeller (31.28g thrust @ 3V)
thingiverse
The propeller was designed after the NACA 63A-108 - NASA/AMES Modification airfoil. Tests were carried out on the Micro Drone Propeller Thrust Tester. The results are displayed below. It was printed at a slow speed using a 0.2 nozzle at 0.04mm height per layer. A X-ACTO Knife was used for cleaning. After that, I finished the propeller with a 400 grit sandpaper. Here are the thrust measurements for some voltage presets (you can also view these in the images taken during the test): - 1.5V => 7.68 grams - 2V => 15.31 grams - 2.5V => 23.57 grams - 3V => 31.28 grams The files included consist of all shots taken during the test, along with 6 txt files that contain airfoil coordinates, the STL files and the SLDPRT files. If you want to play with this propeller, grab a few 8520 coreless motors. Use the SLDPRT files if you wish to adapt the propeller model to suit your own needs. P.S. Airfoil plotted with the matplotlib library in python.
