naca 23012 airfoil

In the NACA 7 by 10-foot wind tunnel, an investigation was conducted on a large-chord NACA 23012 airfoil with various slot arrangements of 25.66 percent chord slotted flaps to explore the section's aerodynamic characteristics influenced by slot shape, flap shape, location and deflection. The study determined the flap position for maximum lift, polars for favorable take-off and climb arrangements, and complete section aerodynamics for optimal setups. A discussion on the relative merits of different setups was provided based on specific criteria. Additionally, a comparison between a slotted flap on NACA 23021 airfoil and a previously developed one for NACA 23012 airfoil was made.
