What is it? This tool makes installation of a new front main seal on the Mazda Miata crankshaft easier. How do I use it? You will line up the seal carefully, lubricate with oil, slide this tool against the face of the seal and slowly force the seal squarely into the bore using the crankshaft bolt. The tool won't stop at the proper distance, so you need to make sure you only push the seal in until it's flush! Read the service manual! Keep a close eye on the seal as it needs to go straight in. Due to printing tolerances, the driver can tilt while in use, so keep an eye all around the seal as you drive it. You can also use gentle taps of a hammer to straighten things out if they become crooked. What's it for? This tool should work on all 1.8L BP engines because the crankshafts are pretty much identical in all of them. Anything else? I made this tool since I'm rebuilding my NB2 engine and didn't want to wait forever for one to arrive, so instead decided to make one using measurements from my engine and seal.
