A huge thank you goes out to SPC Adam Gross for the incredible inspiration behind this mask. Sergeant Gross approached me with a brilliant idea, proposing that I utilize my 3D printer to create a well-fitting respirator that could be made from everyday materials for the filter media. Together, we designed a filter that incorporates eight layers of cotton T-shirt material. Our decision was informed by an informative article from the CDC about improvised masks, which recommends crisscrossing the material stack to alternate the direction of the weave between each layer. We opted for paracord for the straps. All components can be printed in a durable material, but I strongly recommend printing the face piece in TPU or TPE for added flexibility. Please note that this model can produce a usable print without supports, but it yields an even cleaner print with minimal supports. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has taken the time to view this project, and I hope it proves to be a valuable resource during these uncertain times. Stay safe, and good luck! Sincerely, CPT Henson 1209th MCAS
