The existing valves in the mask can control airflow both in and out of the mask. Alternatively, these adapters can link up an external air supply instead of the filters, providing clean air from that source.\r\n\r\nTo secure connections, wrap electrical or stretchy non-porous tape tightly around interfaces without wrinkling it to minimize leaks. The air filter ports are tapered, matching with ISO 22 mm male conical fittings. However, they form a snug but not completely tight seal due to the ridges on the layer lines.
