This is the Rapid Response System 3D Print Case for a third-world country crisis scenario project using a Sparkfun Redboard with three sensor inputs, specifically designed to monitor pulse, pulse oximetry, and temperature vital signs in real-time. I engineered this innovative case housing the project to incorporate an LCD screen tray insert that directs wires, conceals the board, and incorporates two powerful magnets for a secure latch. Key Design Elements: My team selected vital sign measurements critical in any emergency situation: heart rate, oxygen saturation levels, and body temperature readings. A unique print was required for the pulse oximeter component featuring LED lights and sensors, which I designed using FDM technology to optimize fit within the case. This durable 3D printed enclosure allows easy lid closure while safely securing components with powerful magnetic forces. Functional Mechanisms: Using advanced software simulations in Inventor, I calculated optimal case dimensions to precisely accommodate circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and delicate sensors without causing any obstructions or strain on mechanical connections. I engineered a self-straightening hinge using specialized heat treatment techniques applied during post-processing stages for perfect flat nail head finishing after thermal shaping and cutting the hinge material's excess length.
