N Scale Lighted Dwarf Signals
thingiverse
This is the third revision of the lighted dwarf signals. The STLs have been made so the parts can be split easily and/or duplicated to make more. The models are designed to be printed on a FDM/PLA printer with a 0.4 nozzle. You will need good quality filament and have your settings dialed in to get a good quality print. These are sized to use SMD 603 size LEDs. In addition to the print you will need the following: Materials: Various LEDs SMD 603 size Enamel Coated Magnet Wire 38 to 42 AWG (You will need to solder the wire to the LEDs) CA Glue Optional: Black Paint Clear Epoxy Tools: 1.2mm Diameter Drill Bit in a Pin Vise(to clean out holes) Hobby Knife(general cleanup of parts) Sand Sticks or Boards(for additional cleanup) You can put the LEDs in first or slide then in after the signal face is glued to the back. Then slide the base on over the wires and glue to the bottom of the signal. Optional: To help prevent light bleed to different holes I recommend putting a small drop of epoxy on each of the LEDs after the wires are soldered. Once dry, sand down the epoxy and paint the edges of the epoxy and LED with black paint so only the top of it shows light through.
