N Scale Clerestory Roof for Old Farish Coaches

Replacement roofs for old Farish N scale coaches are now available in four variants. These designs cover both suburban coach and brake-end configurations as well as the standard 4-wheel coach and brake-end combinations. Once painted, these replacement roofs will be showcased here. Painting is scheduled to take place a few weeks from now, at which point this entry will be updated with the results. These custom roof designs were created using OpenSCAD for printing on the FlashForge CreatorPro. The prints are made of ABS plastic and follow default settings without requiring any rafts or supports. A separate press-fit base is included to ensure that the edges of each roof can lie flat against the print bed, resulting in a clean and straight edge. Note: During construction, it was discovered that the printer's length calibration was off by about 1%. Although the STL files are accurately scaled for this specific printer, users may need to rescale slightly in the X-axis to achieve proper fitment on the coach bodies. A trial build will quickly reveal any discrepancies - the roof should overhang each end of the body by approximately 0.3mm.
