N-scale automobile (Tesla) with functioning head and tail lights: Remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4834906. Two 3 mm warm white LEDs illuminate the head and tail lights. I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AUI4VRY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1, but any 3 mm LEDs with the dimensions shown in the LED schematic can be used. A CR1025 coin battery powers the LEDs. Overall dimensions of the finished car are 36 mm long, 15 mm wide, 12 mm tall at roof of the car. Car Assembly: After removing the tree supports from the bottom half of the car (not easy, but are needed), cut the LED wires just below the thick part (see diagram). Color one LED bulb and the rear lamp with a red permanent marker. A mm or so of the rear lamp bulbs needs to be trimmed otherwise they will stick out beyond the body of the car. Snap head and tail lamps into the lower car body. Place white and "red" LEDs into the lower car body such that positive cathode is parallel to the passenger side door. There is a picture of how the LED wires should be positioned. Double check that both LEDs light up with a coin battery before gluing. I used a drop of super glue gel to hold the LED bulbs in place and to glue the top half to the bottom at the same time, which I clamped with two small plastic clamps. Battery Powering/Unpowering Using the Positive cathode Passenger side door mnemonic, place the battery into the holder on a countertop and push the car on top such that battery's cathode is on the passenger side. You may have to use a puttyknife or small screwdriver to splay the legs of the LEDs such that the battery slides between both legs. To unpower the LEDs, use a puttyknife to pry out the battery case out a few millimeters until the lights turn off. Future Car Colors:I initially went with the Henry Ford's color (Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it's black), but plan to print the car in different colors to see if my daughter can paint the windows and tires. I don't have the dexterity (or patience) to paint tiny objects.
