So this is the final chapter of our epic adventure, building your very own RC car, Chapter #5 - The Suspension! In Spanish, we say "suspense," and that's why I saved it for last... But also because now you'll have to make some crucial decisions. You'll need to select the perfect CVD (Constant Velocity Drive) to bring your vision to life. For on-road cars or scale cars, you'll want shorter CVDS. On the other hand, bigger ones will be necessary for building a buggy, truggy, or short course car. I've seen some unbelievable prices for HSP CVDs coming from China, but I think they're also among the most popular and well-documented options. After doing some research, I discovered that there are at least three types of CVDS. TYPE A Steering Blocks are designed specifically for Vandal CVDs and use two 5x10x4 bearings each. TYPE B Steering Blocks are perfect for HSP 122015, HSP 166015, and HSP 188015. They utilize one 5x10x4 bearing and another 10x15x4 bearing each. TYPE C Steering Blocks are similar to TYPE B but with a slightly different bearing placement. These would be ideal for HSP 102015, HSP 106015, and HSP 108015. TYPED Steering Blocks are designed specifically for Reely CVDs, the ones used in OpenRC Truggy. ### NEW I think the rear adjustable steering blocks need some improvement, so I've removed them. As a quick fix, I created fixed rear C-hubs for types A, B, C, and D, as well as for Vandal Dogbones and wheel-vases. As you can see in the drawings, I designed the arms to accommodate three different CVD lengths. You can use the short one, MRCC_SUS_LA475, to build an on-road or scale car, or MRCC_SUS_LA715 or MRCC_SUS_LA769 to build an off-road car. The latter Lower Arm has been added for use with 188015 and 108015 CVDs in combination with type B or type C Hubs. ### NEW: Improved LA715 and LA769 lower arms feature a pin lock system and reinforced design. Look for the "upgraded" version of the LA's That's it! Print a pair of C-hubs, then print two front steering blocks of the correct type for your CVDS and a rear fixed Chub pair. ### NEW 2 As Yuran suggested, some of you might not want adjustable length upper arms. I've created five upper arms for each lower arm. If you prefer zero camber, use MRCC_SUS_UAXXX with matching numeration as the lower arm – UA475, UA715, and UA769. Variations include 0.5 and 1mm shorter and longer. I'll post more info on building a complete car in our MyRCCar Group.
