A straightforward spindle protector featuring a 1 1/8 inch 12TPI Whitworth thread is internally threaded for effortless assembly, while allowing access to the MT2 taper when adding a centre piece. When printed directly from my printer, this spindle protector fits very snugly - a problem easily resolved by gently heating the spindle threads until they are just warm to the touch and then threading it on. Begin with gentle pressure, as cooler temperatures allow for smooth thread alignment on the 3D printed part. Applying too much heat will only melt the threads into a sticky mess.
