I was caught off guard when I wasn't paying close enough attention while working on internal threads with my Myford Super 7 lathe. This negligence caused the threading bar to collide with the part at hand, resulting in a jam that stalled the lathe's gearbox and stripped four teeth from one of the Tufnol gears. I appreciate the foresight of Myford engineers who designed this safety feature, but unfortunately, I didn't have a spare gear on hand. Fortunately, I was able to easily determine the gear dimensions. I created a new spur gear in Solidworks and 3D printed it. Now, everything is running smoothly again, and I'm even able to finish threading the 1-1/8x12 threads with ease.
