My Take on IKEA LACK Enclosure

My Take on IKEA LACK Enclosure

Bought a $9 Lack for cheap but quickly realized access and visibility would be major issues. Spotted some awesome designs featuring removable tops and legs, which made me think about ways to improve the setup. Initially, I considered a 90° cut that would fold over to one side to maximize table top space, but my other equipment wouldn't allow it. So, a ~45° cut came into play. This cut gives me easy access to the printbed and allows for the filament roll to live on top without increasing the footprint. I still need to relocate the LCD controller to the top - right behind the straight cut. I'll design a trim cover for both remaining raw cut surfaces and incorporate the LCD controller mount. Thinking of adding an LED strip to the underside as well as around the z-frame. Depending on ambient temperature when stabilized (printbed at 100°C), I might hardwire a spare printbed (fairly low wattage) to the PSU and suspend it near the underside of the tabletop with a circulating fan. Definitely open to suggestions!
