My Old Replicator 2 Power Brick Holder - Check out 82565 instead
thingiverse
This thing is no longer used as it has been replaced with a better, more stable design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:82565. It's only kept on Thingiverse for users who might want to create something else from the original design. The new version was released on 3/11/13 and features an improved grip on the power brick and a snug fit for the Rep 2. The user has a Replicator 2 that lives on a mobile cart, so there's no room under the desk for the power brick to stay unobtrusively. The brick had been unplugged multiple times due to being jostled, so this design was created as a temporary solution. It fits in an unused space at the back of the Rep 2 and includes a cable management clip underneath the brick cradle. Admittedly, it took too much time and filament to create, but duct tape and Velcro would have been a better choice. The design was updated on 2/25/2013 to increase the clip angle and improve the grip of the power brick. To print this from Makerware, use high resolution settings with 25% infill, 3 shells, 0.3mm layer height, 80 mm/sec extrude speed, and 150 mm/sec travel speed. Ear rafts from thing:38272 were added at all corners in Makerware to ensure bonding, but a raft could also be used. The Makerbot logo serves as a pressure pad for secure brick holding, while the oval cutouts minimize filament usage with minimal structural impact. Modeled in Alibre Design, source included.
