"My Missing Puzzle Piece" Necklace

Here is a basic template for making puzzle piece pendants for Valentine's day, Christmas, Birthdays or just for personal purposes. I used these templates on my Cricut Explore 3 to transfer these designs onto vinyl, which was then stuck to a piece of Aluminum stock. this project used 3mm aluminum flatstock scrap, a jumpring and sterling silver chain. This project can be made by anyone who has the patience to do so! This design could also be used for laser cutters, CNC routers and 3D printers. I've included the files in STL for printing, and SVG for cutting! Tools that I used: - Aggressive flat file (or beltstander, just to get the rough shape of the parts) - Small files: I used a circular file, a flat file and a demi circle file. These are used to refine the shape, however a jewelers saw could work as well, or even sandpaper if necessary. - Painters tape: This is wrapped around the pendants anytime they are being shaped, just to avoid scratches or flat spots. - Clamp or Vise: This is not required, but it does make the shaping process much easier. - Hacksaw or Rotary tool: Just to create the very rough shape, followed by a course file, then the small files. - drill, 2mm and 5mm drill bit: This is used to make the circular holes in the parts. (NOTE: THIS IS NOT PRESICE! using a bigger or smaller bit is fine, itll just change the resulting size of the holes.) Polishing equipment - Hot glue: I glued the parts on to a scrap piece of wood to make sanding and polishing easier. - 320-3000 Grit Sandpaper -Optional: "Mothers automotive Scratch remover". This just helps give the parts their final shine, but isn't required in order to get great results. - Microfiber cloth: for buffing and cleaning the parts Tips: - Make sure to sand UP AND DOWN! this helped to give me the best result. DO NOT sand/polish in a circular motion until the scratch remover compound is used. Be sure to use a clean cloth to prevent scratching. - be sure to leave sufficient material around the Jumpring Hole
