My Mishmash Prusa i3

Here is my collection of parts used to make my i3 3D printer. They have worked well for me and may work equally as well for you. This is also where I can store spare parts that others can use, in addition to providing a complete set of printed components. Instructions The parts included are various modifications to original components. I created the y-tensioner myself. The bearing holder for the y-axis was redesigned due to insufficient clearance without it. I utilize M3 thumbwheels to level my heated bed. For the x-tensioner, I employed an M3 bolt paired with small bearings and washers, using no guides for the belt. Cable runs are simplified with braided cable, maintaining cleanliness throughout the printer. Cable chains were previously used but caused noise during printing. My printer now features an E3D v6 hotend, requiring a bit of persuasion to fit into the extruder. If it causes problems in the future, I may need to replace this part. Regarding the extruder, the smaller gear was reworked to move the nut closer to the motor shaft and gear, providing better alignment on the shaft. The M3 nut is heated and inserted into a slot before securing with an M3 grub screw. This tight fit requires fitting the small gear to the shaft using a G clamp and cautious handling. For my x-tensioner, I employed an M6x50 coach bolt and reduced the head size to accommodate it within the x-idler end. On the exterior, two nuts were installed - one in the block and one for securing - along with a slot created by dremel on the end of the bolt to tighten the belt.
