My LK5 Pro Drag chain setup
prusaprinters
I was tired of the wire loom constantly sagging with the additional wires and less support of the Bowden tube as a result of switching to a direct drive setup. There were no good options for a Y axis drag chain that I could find that would support my setup, so I made one that worked. My setup is based on a LK5 Pro with the stock dual blowers. I have since modified by adding a Phaetus BMS hotend, direct drive with pancake extruder and upgraded extruder, dual 5015 blowers, and BL Touch. The chain setup will take care of mounting the extruder for the direct drive setup which is solid mounted to the stock dual screw mounts for the fan shroud, this was based on this model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5949997 I did a lot of trimming mainly because it was and still is very strong and it didn't let me rotate the pancake extruder the way I wanted with the wires to run. I'm including all pieces that are necessary to replicate the printable portions of my Y-axis. The reasons for all the upgrades? Klipper… 😂You will want to use this wonderful chain to connect from the stock extruder location to the new Y-axis bracket: https://www.printables.com/model/243893-semi-open-universal-cable-drag-chainI printed 18 links for my particular setup, your mileage may vary.
