My Customized Rectangular-ish Quick Release Tripod mount
thingiverse
Here's a shoe plate you can use for your custom project. Made using the Customizer on Thingiverse, you'll need to follow these steps to build it. To start, take a look at these settings: ShoeBottomLength is set at 61 FrontDetentWidth stands at 2 ShoeTopWidth is also 68 ShoeDepth comes in at 8 inches deep If that doesn't work for you, you can adjust SideDetentLength to 16 and set the SideDetentWidth at a width of 3 If not then try lowering ShoeBottomWidth from 68. The TopPlate has three dimensions - its Width and Length will be at 68 as well, while Depth remains 5. The Front Detent Length stands tall at 15 To assemble this part: First take your top plate. Then find the center mark on it - then put one detent right next to each end on the shoe plate (you may use any glue and press them in gently). This way the plates line up correctly on each side. Next attach another set of two detents right at each side along its entire width from end to front, also make sure there are a small 2 mm holes predrilled near center of part (one side is always going over existing top and you have to screw these in as tight as you can so nothing can break free once fully tightened)
