My Customized Parametric Snowflake Ornament
thingiverse
Here are the customized versions of a hexagon-shaped robot that I've designed to help with cleaning and picking up objects. The robot's arms, which can be changed depending on your preferences, currently consist of ten long sticks attached at one end and six short metal spines at the other. The length of these sticks can be increased or decreased in 55-degree increments. Here is a detailed explanation of how to assemble and customize my hexapod robot: Instructions for Building and Customizing My Hexapod Robot The main body of this design has ten long sticks attached with three short metal spines at each end, which will provide the movement necessary for navigation around your room. This is done by changing one parameter or more, that's why you need to pay attention when printing it out. You might be wondering where you can download the customized versions of my design, just go and visit http://www.thingiverse.com/customizer/. When choosing a 3D printer, ensure it has an open design. I recommend using Thingiverse because they offer more models with an open structure that you can easily print from your own computer at home. Now to start assembling this magnificent piece of machinery all you need to do is download the design and begin to customise to suit your style, in my version we used: 6 short metal spikes on each side, one metal rod which connects it all and the arm itself. This way the movement would look fluid when moving around, not as stiff and static like normal machines do. I also recommend looking up for "Hexapod robot tutorial" because learning more will allow you to fully get involved with designing one for yourself in Thingiverse, where everyone contributes by creating new designs, modifying existing ones or improving their functionality, all that through the collaborative spirit we love here.
