Using the Customizer on Thingiverse to Create a Bolt Model: Instructions for Modifying Design Parameters Instructions for Users Use these Options to Change Design Settings: - Select the head type from a predefined set of hex options. - Adjust the nut resolution value to either 0.25 or 1 millimeter. - Set the thread step size to either 2 or 5 units, using a numerical value. Settings for Bolt and Nut Specifications: - Determine the outer diameter of the bolt, measured in whole number values between 9 and 18 millimeters. - Specify the type of drive required from predefined options such as flat head, pan head, countersunk, truss head, socket cap head or button top head. - Identify whether you want to include a recess for wrench access (drive_type). Geometric Characteristics: - Indicate if a thread will be cut on one end, measured in decimal units. - Choose the type of drive, specified as socket or not. Design Parameters: - Set the diameter of both the bolt head and the threaded outer part. Values are limited between 8 and 20 millimeters. - Designate a depth for threading on bolts. Settings for Textures: - Indicate whether texture is required; if so select exclude. Inner and Outer Diameters: - Establish inner diameter and determine which non-threaded diameter value to set between options. Non-thread diameter must be below thread outer diameter in order for bolts to properly function. Final Assembly Dimensions: Choose the overall width (non_thread_length) measured as a decimal unit in millimeters, up to 15 mm. Specify how long to make threading, ranging from zero millimeters and increasing with decimal precision to 40.5 mm. Non-thread length, countersink values along non-thread areas, thickness measurements, facets for modeling design accuracy are other considerations available through Thingiverse's customizer.
