The design options that were chosen are as follows: Outside Chamfer: This parameter sets the radius of any corner that lies outside the knurled region. The default is 5 millimeters, which gives a subtle curve to these points but not overly dramatic. Inside Chamfer: Like its counterpart above, this parameter controls the radius of the corners found inside the knurl. By default it's set at 2.5 millimeters, creating just enough curve that it doesn't become visually disorienting when viewing your creation head-on from either perspective or side-angle view. Solid Container (Solid container) : When enabled (default state), all features created for this part will reside on separate layers within CAD files instead getting combined onto a single body where appropriate functionality dictates their need to share spatial real estate. Wall Thickness (Thickness): The standard default thickness of the cylinder walls, currently at 2.0mm giving our object some strength without overpowering aesthetic appearance with bulkiness. The specific choices that were made regarding knurl type can also be specified manually for greater control: Height: The default height of 30.0 millimeters was chosen. A dimension for diameter has been established and is set to twelve mm. For those cases where lids require more support in order to remain stable atop, an option exists that dictates thickness for top part: As an optional measure to counteract movement back and forth as gears work against each other there exists 'backlash', a distance which serves only to maintain positioning integrity while keeping functionality operational at its best.
