MXL R80 Ribbon Upgrade and Alignment Jig
thingiverse
My Latest Project Takes Shape I'm on a mission to revolutionize the use of Ribbon microphones and I'm excited to share my latest innovation. This time, I've created a series of files that will help you upgrade your MXL R80 truss using a ribbon alignment jig. Not only that, but I've also designed replacement ribbon clamps and covers that are sure to take your DIY skills to the next level. But that's not all - I've taken it a step further by providing a custom PCB that can be replaced with a 3-D printed part. And to top it off, I've included instructions on how to suspend the truss using flex corner braces. It's a game-changer! If you're looking for an alternative to the standard MXL ribbon truss, don't worry - I've got you covered. I've also designed a frame that allows you to replace it with Rick's larger truss from Austin Ribbon. Just click on this link to get more information. Need the ribbon element? No problem! You can find it here: http://www.diyribbonmic.com/parts To ensure your 3-D printed parts turn out perfectly, I recommend printing them at 100% infill. And if you're looking for the perfect filament for your flex corner braces, I've found that Nijaflex gives me the best results.
