Mx SMD component strip holder

I created these holders for compact storage of SMD components in a box. The SMD components often come in strips cut from reels when purchased, and I buy them most frequently in strips of 100 for prototyping purposes. These strips are usually rolled up in small zip-bags that I find less than ideal. The zip bags are typically too large, wasting space and providing limited visibility. It can be difficult to get the strip back into the bag, and the writing on the bag often wears off over time. To address these issues, I designed these holders. Most of the strips I use have widths of either 8.2mm or 12.2mm. Depending on the component size (1206, 0805, etc.), each holder is large enough to store up to 100 items. The outer dimensions were determined by the height of the box in my opinion; 30x30mm seems just right. The holder has a ridge to prevent the strip from falling out. A hole in the middle can be used to wind the strip using tweezers, and the corner holes allow for linking multiple holders together using metal wire, paperclip wire, or a piece of filament that can be fused with heat to create a semi-permanent binding. A wonderful addition by whoneyc allows you to easily separate the transparent plastic covering the strip: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2717152. This remix by pbechard extends both my design and the one by whoneyc to include a holder for unused items that fell out of the strip: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2735110. A parametric remix incorporated a slit to separate the transparent plastic cover from the strip: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3804430. You can also look at this design by Robin, who was inspired by mine but developed it further: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3952021. I really like the compliant version in which the moving clamp is an integrated part of the design. Don't forget to watch the very nice video he made about his design. This remix by RCFerguson is based on Robin's design and includes some improvements: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3971992. This remix by thedeveloperguy also uses a standard DIN mounting rail as a base for the cartridges: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3968062.
