This magnetic phone Mount for MX-5 ND is crafted in one seamless piece and relies on a robust 2"x1"x1/4" Neodymium N52 Magnet for its holding power. Be cautious when placing your order, as you want to receive the model with the strongest possible pull force. I have been utilizing this mount for over a year now. Printing settings: - Layer thickness: .1 or .2 - Wall count: 3 or 4 walls - Infill density: 60% - Support structure: required - Brim layers: 10 layers - Print orientation: on its side If you prefer, this mount can also be printed with a .2 layer thickness, but the printing time will be significantly longer. As for my finishing techniques, I employ sanding with 220 and 400 grit papers, followed by wet sanding with progressively finer grits (600, 800, and 1200). Finally, I apply plastic/acrylic polishing compound to achieve a high-gloss finish. Please note that I have experimented with various materials: PETG and PETG carbonate. Unfortunately, both ultimately lose their tension over time, causing the mount to malfunction. However, the last model that has endured for over a year was printed using Polycarbonate, which I had annealed at 210 F for one hour. To secure the mount firmly in place, you will need to find a stronger 2x1x1/4 inch magnet than what is provided. Low-viscosity epoxy can be used for this purpose. I have also included a template for cutting a rubber piece that provides essential friction, preventing the phone from sliding off the mount. This rubber piece should be attached using contact cement and should be approximately 1mm thick.
