MWO Style Canis CAS-PRIME for BattleTech Tabletop
thingiverse
This is my attempt at modernizing the Canis CAS-PRIME for BattleTech Tabletop game enthusiasts. This model leverages assets ripped from MechWarrior: Online's Piranha Games Studio to create a sleek, futuristic look reminiscent of the iconic Canis design. I've arranged these assets on a Hex Base to ensure seamless compatibility with the tabletop experience. Once printed, more images will be available, showcasing this creation in all its glory. Following the Clan invasion, which highlighted the vulnerability of Clan tactics against Inner Sphere forces in prolonged battles, Coyote scientists developed the Canis. This versatile assault 'Mech excels at utilizing energy-based firepower while incorporating ballistic armament to deliver a crushing impact. To power this arsenal, the Canis boasts an Endo Steel internal structure and an Extra-Light Engine, supported by standard armor weighing fifteen tons for added protection. Its relatively slow speed is offset by powerful jump jets that allow it to leap ninety meters at a time. The Canis first saw action in 3058 during the Harvest Trials against Clan Jade Falcon forces. It's equipped with four Series 7Ja ER Large Lasers mounted on its arms, delivering potent long-range attacks despite overloading its sixteen double heat sinks. For medium-range support, two torso-mounted Type 9 Ultra Autocannon/10s provide a steady stream of firepower, though the Canis can only sustain firing for approximately a minute and a half before needing to reload.
