thingiverse
Māori people on New Zealand's North Island East Coast Play Tōrere Board Game with Strategy and Skill. Tōrere, a popular two-player board game among Māori, requires strategic thinking to win. It's one of two traditional games played by Māori before the British Empire took control. Each player has four counters, or perepere, placed on the board at kewai points. The pūtahi remains empty at the start of each game. Players move one counter per turn to an adjacent kewai spot. They can only move their counters to an empty space next to another player's counter if they land in the pūtahi. The winner is the first player who blocks all their opponent's counters from moving, forcing them into a stalemate.
