At the Barrett-Jackson auction in 2012, Shelby American unveiled the release of the GT500 Super Snake. This beastly vehicle is available in two supercharged engine packages that unleash 662 horsepower (494 kW) and 850 horsepower (634 kW), respectively. The first fifty vehicles sold were offered in limited edition colors - either sleek black with a triple gold stripe or crisp white with a triple gold stripe. The 2013 GT500 Super Snake marked the end of an era for the Shelby Alcoa Super Snake Wheels. In their place, new lightweight forged aluminum wheels took center stage. These cutting-edge wheels were not only used on the 2013 Super Snake but also retrofitted onto any 2007-2012 GT500 models that visited the Shelby American Facility to become part of the exclusive Super Snake club. The 2013 Super Snake also rolled out with a wide body option, giving drivers even more freedom to take the road by storm.
