This custom phone holder/charge stand was inspired by the iconic Ford Mustang logo emblem designed by RomanC54. You can find the original model on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2786520. I transformed this design into a unique gift for my brother, a proud Mustang owner, who can proudly display his love for his car with this phone stand/charge station. The model was optimized to work seamlessly with a Samsung Galaxy S7 and its original USB/micro USB charge cable. However, it can be easily adapted to other devices as well. This phone holder has multiple variations that allow you to print it in different configurations. You can use it as a standalone phone stand or attach it to a 3D printed Mustang model, which can sit upright on its own. One of the standout features of this design is the split model option, allowing you to print it in two separate parts. This is incredibly useful if you need to make any modifications or repairs to the part that holds the micro USB cable. The original model is available in red, but I also created versions in orange and white for added fun. When printing models 1, 2, or 3, be aware that they have slightly different angles for the orientation of the micro USB socket, which affects the angle at which your phone sits. If you're using a non-Samsung brand micro USB cable, you may need to make some adjustments to fit it properly. You can either sand down the slot or use a scalpel to trim the plastic and create a custom fit. Alternatively, you can modify the STL file in Fusion 360 to accommodate your specific cable. Before assembling your phone holder, double-check that the micro USB socket on your phone aligns perfectly with the micro USB port on the cable. Also, be sure to pass the micro USB cable through the rectangular hole in the tail and into the corresponding hole where the phone sits. Once you're satisfied with the orientation and seating of your phone, it's a good idea to glue the micro USB socket in place to prevent it from getting pushed out every time you plug in your device.
