Mustang Cobra keyfob cover
thingiverse
The main aim of this cover is to enable you to slip your keyfob into your pocket (or purse) without unintentionally pressing the buttons. The buttons are sunk below the surface with this cover, making it tricky to press a button when the keyfob is tucked away in your pocket, although not impossible. I deliberately kept the panic button and trunk button partially covered as they're not used on a daily basis. Moreover, the opening is intentionally snug so you will have to trim it carefully using an exacto knife to fit the keyfob securely inside. This particular keyfob cover is designed to accommodate 2001 Mustang keyfobs or any other with similar dimensions. I believe this product would be suitable for 1999-2010 Mustangs and possibly other Ford models as well. It's recommended to examine the pictures carefully before printing to confirm a perfect fit. I have created an STL file featuring "Cobra" text, but I'd be more than happy to include custom text in the OpenSCAD file if you're unfamiliar with it. The argument functionality in OpenSCAD enables you to print anything you want, such as your name, alongside the "Cobra" logo. \n \n Here are the steps to get started: - To begin, I printed my cover using 50% infill and thick shells with a .2mm layer height. - In addition to these parameters, I also utilized light supports throughout the printing process. - Intentionally, extra material has been left on the opening, allowing you to customize its size for optimal keyfob insertion force. I used an Exacto knife to adjust the size of the opening, but a Dremel could be employed as an alternative if needed.
