Object ID: 2003.021.085 Florida Holocaust Museum's permanent collection proudly showcases this invaluable donation from Milton Kohn. A unique musical instrument crafted from the parchment of a Torah Scroll serves as a poignant reminder of the devastation wrought by the Nazi occupation in Europe. Synagogues and sacred objects were mercilessly destroyed, while holy texts were desecrated, leaving people to find creative ways to reuse the remnants of their heritage. The parchments from Torah scrolls, once revered for their spiritual significance, were repurposed into functional items such as wallets, handbags, envelopes, and even musical instruments like this one. A 3D model of this remarkable instrument was created through digital photogrammetry, employing a Nikon D3400 camera to capture 326 high-resolution images (6000 x 4000 pixels). These photographs were then expertly processed using Agisoft Metashape software.
