I've been working on this print for several weeks now, and I can see why there aren't any completed projects posted anywhere - the success rate is likely extremely low. To improve my chances of success, I repaired multiple models using Meshmixer and shared them with others. I'm also including a special version of the case that resembles a dragon egg, which was inspired by a gift idea to recess the drop inside a dragon egg and play a short clip from the Game of Thrones intro (the disc is included). The result looks impressive, but I have trouble making out the melody, even with a fine tip. To get the original disc to print well, I recreated the notes in Tinkercad with slightly better spacing; unfortunately, I can only barely make out the tune. To strengthen the trigger posts and disc, I applied a brush-on super glue to the surface, which seems to work perfectly and prevents the trigger posts from breaking (a problem I experienced with my original design, even after applying glue). The instructions advise screwing the screws in from behind, but for some reason, the nuts dampened the tines. I also had to use a washer as a spacer instead of nuts since mine were larger - apparently that's not uncommon. LOL Visit Left Field Labs for more information.
